So today will be my first blog posting. It has been a while since I've actually done one of these things. Well, its the first day of black history month and I think I might write something dealing with that tomorrow. Yet, as for today, let me clear some things up about myself.
[My actual name is Desiree, but I have several nicknames including; Desiire, BlackMulan or Desii. I'm 18 going on 19 in May and I attend college. The college that attend is not as important as the fact that I am indeed attending. My major is Criminal Justice/Pre-Law, with a minor in English.]
Hmm what to write today. I'm usually just random, so you might see some of the randomosity throughout this and latter blogs.
OH! One thing I found out today was that there is INDEED a song called DURRTY BOOTIE. Uh, it's a song that requires girls to do this funny looking dance. I personally love to dance, but to dance to a song called DURRTY BOOTIE might cause me to think before I act. The superbowl is going on as I'm typing I believe, yet I'm not too interesed in it. I'm personally a REDSKINS fan and since they are not in it, I feel no need to watch it.
Well I do enjoy the occasional comments, actually. I simply enjoy comments. So if you comment mine, I will surely return the favor.
Let me leave you all with something I wrote some time ago, when i was questioned, "What do I feel a REAL STRONG BLACK WOMAN is?"
A strong black woman knows when to allow her "man" to be the man in her life, without losing herself in the process. Knows how to take care of her man when it is needed, all along taking care of her. Can put the needs of others in the forefront and not need appreciation for that. A strong black woman does not NEED a man to complete her, but rather WANTS him to compliment her. A strong black woman knows the value of an education and strives to get one at any means. A strong black woman can allow herself to be transparent without feeling vulnerable. A strong black woman, can love, love God, herself and love the man in her life with the greatest passion ever. See I am this strong black woman, any further explanation needed?
